Wanga was born organically — with time, with travels, and with the right people at the right moment.

Between 2021 and 2022, the first ideas began to take shape, along with the selection of fabrics and the very first models, sewn by the hands of Mr. Manuel. That’s when the
identity of Wanga started to form — with simplicity, curiosity, and a desire to create something that made sense.

Later, in December 2023, we crossed paths and began meeting with the shared purpose of giving the project structure, direction, and life. It was a process marked by pauses
and progress, shaped by other journeys and projects, but always with the certainty that Wanga was meant to happen.

The brand took shape in this way: through conversations, encounters, shared experiences, content creation, fabric selection, and experimenting with colors and materials.

Francisca, the founder

Lived in Mozambique for 12 years, where she found the inspiration to bring a project to life — one with an African soul, built on respect for people and their stories.

She is the one who handpicks the fabrics, oversees the creative details, and keeps the essence of Wanga alive — made of authenticity, color, and freedom.

Beatriz, co-founder

Discovered Wanga by chance — she received a bag, felt its energy, and knew she wanted to be part of it. She has been living in Mozambique for three years and has been actively contributing to the project ever since: planning, organizing, and shaping Wanga’s communication.

Together, they are an integral part of everything: the vision, the creation, the
management, and the emotion that give life to the brand.

Wanga represents the meeting point between Mozambique and the world.

It is a brand rooted in artisanal techniques, respect for time, and attention to detail.
We value what is unique — the stories, the people, and the traditions that pass through generations.

We don’t follow trends — we follow the rhythm of those who create with soul.

Wanga means “mine” — and that’s what each piece is meant to be: yours.
Made with truth, with time, and with intention.

Wena Wanga.
Kanimambo.
Thank you.
